The price of college is difficult to pay for most students, most college students benefit greatly from scholarships. Luckily too for most students is that there are many scholarship opportunities for college students. As long as a college student is within good standing with his or her college and has a passing grade point average, there will be places that a student can get help paying for his or her college.  Much of these scholarships will require an essay to apply for them so be sure to write to the best of your ability if you are applying.  Below I will write down a list of scholarships for college students.  Be sure to regularly check on these scholarships because the dates of deadlines may change from year to year.

$2,000 Disaster Preparation Scholarship

This scholarship is available to high-school freshmen through college seniors. This scholarship gives out 3 awards of $2,000. To apply, you must send in a video that as uploaded to YouTube showing that you know how to prepare for a hurricane or other flood disaster. The deadline to this scholarship is November

The Future is Female Scholarship

This scholarship awards $3,000 to any female student who needs help paying for college. To be applicable, the student must also have a 3.0 grade point average and be a U.S citizen.  To apply, the student must send in a reply to five short essay questions. The deadline to this scholarship is November


Build U. Scholarship

This scholarship is available to anyone 18 years or older that is studying product design, interaction design, engineering and computer science. The award is for one payment of $2,500. To be considered the student must write a 1,000 word essay response to the question “Which company or organization (other than buildium) best exemplifies one of the above core values and how?”. This scholarship’s deadline is November


Tutor the People Essay Scholarship

This scholarship is available to high school juniors to college seniors and the ward amount is $1,000. To apply, a student must be in good academic standing with a  minimum grade point average of 3.0. To apply for this award you must give a 500 to 1,000 word response to the prompt on the website that sponsors this award.  The deadline to this ward is Mid-December


One Earth Young Filmmakers Contest

The One Earth Young Filmmakers contest is open to high school seniors through college seniors. The scholarship gives out 4 awards from $75-$1,000. To apply for the scholarship, students must submit a video that explains an environmental problem and potential solutions to the problem. Videos as short as 45 seconds will be considered. The scholarship’s deadline is on Mid-January.


Young Scholars Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, a student must be under 31 years of age. This scholarship gives out 5 awards of $2,000. To be eligible a student must also be a U.S citizen and hold a minimum grade point average of 3.0. The deadline for this scholarship is the end of December.


F Armstrong Scholarship- Cornell College

The F. Armstrong scholarship is available to any freshmen at Cornell college that is contributing to increasing campus diversity. The award is for $16,000 and the deadline varies.


 CKSF Scholarship Competition

This scholarship is available for high school freshmen throughout students in graduate school. The award amount is $2,500. To apply for this scholarship the student must take a series of tests and quizzes. The work will be scored on a combination of accuracy and time completed. The students who do the best will be granted the award. The deadline for this scholarship varies.


 Optimist International Oratorical Contest

This scholarship is available to 18 year olds at the oldest. The award amount is in $2,500. To be applicable for the award an individual must prepare a 4-5 minute presentation on the topic “How my passions effect the world” to be presented at your local Optimist club’s contest. The deadline to this scholarship varies.


Constitution Convention

This scholarship is available for high school seniors to graduate students. The award is $25 given every two weeks. To be applicable students must comment on the new bill of rights institute debate platform constitution convention. This deadline varies.

Opinion Outpost $10,000 Quarterly Prize Drawing

This scholarship is available to anyone 15 years and older. The award amount is in $10,000. To be applicable for this scholarship you must fill out a survey every quarter. Students are allowed as many tries as they want to. The deadline varies. And the awarded money can be given through ether Amazon or PayPal.


CSEA Member Career Grant

This scholarship award is in 1,000 dollars given annually. The deadline is the end of October. Applications are available to anyone part of the California School Employee Association(CSEA) at the CSEA website. This award is given to 30 different students annually.

National Eagle Scout Association Academic Scholarship

This award ranges from 2,500 dollars to 48,000 dollars. To be applicable a student must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0 and must confirm through his or her college that they are a full time student. To be applicable the student must also be an Eagle Scout and have a Sat score of 1200+. To sign up, you must go National Eagle Scout association website (NESA). This award’s deadline is the end of October.

$5,000 Next Steps Digital Scholarship

The deadline to this scholarship is December 15th 2017. The winner of this scholarship will receive a one-time payment of 5,000 dollars to aid with living expenses and/or college tuition. The payments are mailed directly to the college the student is going to. Applicants must be a U.S citizen or permanent resident. The student needs to be a current college freshman to graduate student. Applicants must also be enrolled full-time with GPA of at least 3.5. The student must also be majoring in marketing.


In conclusion

If you are a college student, there are plenty of scholarships for college students waiting for you. Just go on apply and start receiving funding for your time in college. There are countless more scholarships that I didn’t have the time to mention in this article. Just go search on the internet, they are fairly easy to find. There are billions of dollars in scholarship that go unattended every year!
